Staying positive in 2020

Matt Tanner on November 1, 2020

My wife and I were watching the news the other night and had the realization that nobody is getting “2020 RULES!” tattoos this year. Or maybe they are? But we thought it would be funny to get them and then bullet list all of the terrible things that happened to each of us this year.

2020 has been a hard year for everybody I think. Personally, I’ve had to work through losing income, losing loved ones, losing a new puppy, losing a bike… losing losing losing!! But I’m not going into the holiday season focused on what I’ve lost this year.

Thankful people never let current circumstances dictate their future: They realise that nothing you go through in life is forever. It’s temporary and only to bring out the best in you. They focus on the beautiful future they have ahead and so whatever they may be going through now, they don’t let it deter them from their goals.

I’m Winning!

I have so many things to be thankful for in my life. I don’t ever want to take them for granted. I have a beautiful wife that supports me unconditionally. I have my health. I live in house that is warm. I eat the best grass raised food in the region (Tyner Pond Farm plug). I have an amazing son that has more talent than anybody I know, 4 adult step-kids that are kicking ass and even a cluster of grandkids that make me remember the joy of living carefree.

So, my challenge to you as we wrap up the crappiest of years is to think positive. Stay thankful. Make a list of what you are thankful for. Things that have gone GREAT in 2020. Because nothing is forever. 2020 will be over soon and all the negative things in life will also pass.

A challenge to you…
