Learn2Ride Program Featured on Bicycle Indiana Podcast: A Conversation About Empowering Children Through Cycling

Carmel, IN, October 23, 2024 – Learn2Ride, an innovative program dedicated to teaching children how to ride bicycles and building their confidence on two wheels, was recently featured on a podcast hosted by Bicycle Indiana, a leading non-profit advocating for safe and equitable cycling across the state.

In this engaging episode, Matt Tanner, Founder of Learn2Ride, and Lauren Spatafore, Learn2Ride Coach, joined Margaret Barawskas, Executive Director of Bicycle Indiana, to discuss the impact of the Learn2Ride program. Together, they explored how the program originated, the unique 4-step process that has successfully taught hundreds of children to ride, and the need for more community involvement, especially in the form of additional coaches.

“We’re so passionate about helping kids gain independence through cycling,” said Matt Tanner. “It’s not just about riding a bike; it’s about giving them confidence and a skill they’ll carry with them throughout their lives.”

Lauren Spatafore, one of Learn2Ride’s dedicated coaches, reflected on her experiences: “There’s something magical about seeing a child’s face light up when they realize they can ride on their own. That moment of accomplishment is everything.”

Since its inception, Learn2Ride has seen tremendous success, helping children from ages 6 and up master the essential skill of bike riding in just one 2-hour session. The program has expanded rapidly, and with workshops filling up, there’s a growing need for coaches across the state and beyond.

The role of a Learn2Ride coach is ideal for individuals who love working with children and want to make a meaningful impact on their community. Coaches also enjoy the flexibility of setting their own schedules and can earn up to $400 per workshop.

With teachers, parents, and community members being the perfect candidates, the program is actively recruiting coaches who can inspire and lead the next generation of confident young cyclists.
