Rollfast World’s Fastest Gran Fondo Ranks #6 on Top 15 U.S. Gran Fondos Bucket List

INDIANAPOLIS – March, 7, 2018 – The Rollfast International World’s Fastest Gran Fondo has been ranked #6 on The Gran Fondo Guide’s 2018 Top 15 U.S. bucket list races. Each year, The Gran Fondo Guide reflects on the previous season, recognizing those rides that have innovated, inspired and motivated cyclists, supported worthy causes and contributed to the phenomenal growth of the U.S. Gran Fondo scene.

The Rollfast Gran Fondo has been ranked a Top 10 in the country for the past four years. This marks its best ranking in The Gran Fondo Guide. Also new this year, the Rollfast Gran Fondo has been named one of three US races in the Gran Fondo World Tour. North American cyclists can compete in the Rollfast International Gran Fondo along with two other gran fondo races for overall prizes worth $36,000 dollars, one of the largest prize pots for amateur cyclists in the world.

Since 2012, this cycling event is Indiana’s first and only Fondo, but that is not the only exciting aspect of this race. This race has grown in popularity each year due to its fast course, beautiful scenery, support systems throughout the race and weekend activities in #1 ranked city Carmel Indiana. Elite cyclists around the world have been attracted to this event. Now with the growing popularity and its raise to #6 ranked gran fondo, the 500 rider spots will sell out quickly.

Sub4 and Sub5 Challenges

For seasoned cyclists trying to set a new personal record or new participants looking for an opportunity to ride along with  professionals, the Rollfast International Gran Fondo is the event for you. In 2015, a group of riders challenged each other to finish the century in under four hours, a time unheard for a 100 mile Gran Fondo, and twenty-five riders beat the time, which is now known as the Sub4 Challenge. Beginning in 2017, riders completing the 100-mile course in under four hours or five hours (Sub5 Challenge) receive specials awards and a pretty cool bragging right.

Our Host City

A start/finish line in Carmel, Indiana provides a backdrop of an award-winning, world-class city embracing the arts and cycling, and just a few miles north of Indianapolis, The Racing Capital of the World. Voted the #1 in America’s Best Places to Live by Money magazine, Carmel has also been recognized by The League of American Bicyclists as a Bicycle Friendly Community – an award presented to communities with remarkable commitments to bicycling.
